Grow Up - Motivation & Inspiration - by Alfred

1 Peter 2:2 KJV
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

Every child can choose to remain a kid forever (by remaining childish & immature) even though they are advancing in years and their physical body is growing bigger.
However, life would life would still bring tests and trials for grown ups their way when they reach a grown up age; even though the individual has choosen not grow up and live childish ways behind.
In the same way, if you become a Christian you need to begin to grow up or else you could be a Christian for 50 years or more and still be a Baby Christian.

How Do Grow Up & Continue To Mature In Christianity?:

1) Start Learning God's Word:

Acts 20:32 KJV
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

By learning more about God's Word via reading the Bible, reading good Christian Books, & listening to quality sermons (in audio or video format).
Sermons in church alone are not enough because you won't be doing to church every single day to hear a sermon.
No church holds good teaching services everyday that I know of and even if one did you can't restructure your life to revolve around going to one particular church every single day.
You would need to listen to good teaching daily to renew your mind and knock out the world's way of thinking from you so can start

2) By Doing The Word:

You need to put the Word of God you hear or read to practice.
That means, you have to do the word.

James 1:22-24 KJV
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. [23] For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: [24] For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

How do you do the word?
    Simple.
For example, when you read "by his stripes we were healed" (1 Peter 2: 24).
You put the Word to work by healing yourself the next time you feel sick or someone close to you gets sick.
When you read that you should be thankful even when things go wrong (Ephesians 5: 20), you put that Word to work by being Thankful whenever things go wrong in your life.
When you read that "the Lord shall prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies" (Psalm 23: 5),
You put that Word to work by not worring but expecting a table of blessings the next time you find yourself surrounded by enemies or people who don't like you and wish the worst for you. Right then you remember the word and expect a table of blessings.
